Discovering how to stay healthy in an unhealthy world may sound daunting, even overwhelming, but it is possible and doesn’t have to be expensive. However, it may take quite a bit of discipline, depending on where you are on your personal journey. It may be a total change of direction for you.

Staying healthy means having a healthy immune system. It’s the immune system alone that has the power to see you through any and every adverse event. There are many things in your life that damage or support that. When you’re unaware, you’re frightened and powerless. When you’re in the know, you feel empowered, emboldened.

There are several ways to support your immune system, listed below.

Diet

This is probably at the very top of the list, simply by its daily consumption. No-one can be healthy if they lack nutrients or if they are consuming the wrong food.

Since so much of the food is unhealthy and so much is unsuitable, the majority of the world’s population probably needs to address this.

First, you need to appreciate that you are NOT a carnivore. You are an omnivore. And when you look at your anatomy, you’re clearly at the herbivore end of the scale (type of teeth, weak stomach acid, long intestines, etc). The idea that humans can only obtain protein from animal products is false, as all plants contain protein. Even the humble potato, which has the lowest amount.

It is also a myth to think that bone health comes from dairy. In reality, dairy contributes to poor bone health. Consider the large herbivores (cows, buffalos, horses, rhinos, etc). They have massive bones and consumes no dairy after weaning. Your best source of nutrition for good bone health comes from plants, especially green leafy plants.

Eating organic food is very helpful, both for you and for the health of the planet, but getting the type of food right is a more important first step.

Lifestyle

Many people exist rather than live. They follow the herd, instead of following their heart. There is little meaning or enjoyment to their lives.

Life should be full of joy, of wonder, exciting, creative, enriching. However, that can only be achieved when you follow your heart, your instincts, your feelings. And you can only do that when you appreciate yourself, know yourself, love yourself. You don’t need someone else to achieve that. But you do need to work on that. Everyone does.

The best way for that is to get out into peaceful environments as often as possible (the beach, a park, a peaceful garden, etc) and just be. Watch the birds, the butterflies, the plants, the stars). Getting away from the incessant noise of human activity, of your mind, of traffic, helps to bring you back into yourself.

Make sure there is always time for you, every day. Switch off devices. Allow silence.

Many people are badly damaged, whether it be physically, emotionally or mentally. The typical medical system is largely unable to help these conditions. Rather, they simply cover them over. People aren’t aware of their limitations and often feel they have no other options.
