Women looking for natural hormone replacement tend to be either those who embrace the natural order of life or those who have suffered from the chemical treatment of medicine. Either way, you have a much healthier option at your disposal.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is considered medically when women’s natural levels of oestrogen and progesterone drop. This happens during menopause. To my way of thinking, this replacement defies the natural order. These hormones drop off during menopause for a very good reason – they are no longer needed. Oestrogen (estrogen) is the hormone that stimulates egg release. Progesterone is the hormone that prepares the uterus for pregnancy.

However, the symptoms that accompany this dropping off, can be unpleasant. Symptoms can include vaginal dryness, thinning of hair, night sweats, hot flushes (or hot flashes), memory problems and accumulation of abdominal fat.

So the chemical medical solution is to synthetically replace these hormones. This is often highly detrimental to the health of the woman, with cancer not uncommon.

A much more healthy option is to understand what is happening and to resolve that. For women to suffer these symptoms during menopause indicates not so much the lack of hormones, as this is a normal consequence when past the age of being able to have children. Instead it indicates that the woman’s health is not very good.

When your health is as good as it can be, you will never suffer from any ailment, whether physical, emotional or mental. This is rare in today’s environment, but should certainly be a goal to aim for.

By the time a woman naturally reaches menopause, anywhere between 40 and 60, most commonly around 50, she may have suffered a variety of health problems. When these are treated naturally, her overall health tends to improve. However, when they are treated medically with chemicals, the symptoms are merely suppressed. This means the immune system is also suppressed. This does not bode well for future health.

Many women reach menopause much earlier than they naturally should, because of the widespread use of synthetic hormones, particularly the oral contraceptive pill (OCP) and the problematic injection, depo-provera. But also from the medical treatment of problems with the period. As well as the often unnecessary intervention during pregnancy and childbirth.

So by the time a woman reaches 50, she may have a poor immune response. She has probably also accumulated a lot of toxins that are so common today – in food, in the air, in soft furnishings, in her medications, to name just a few.

So is hormone replacement, even natural hormone replacement, really the answer? Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to take a wider look at what is going on?

This is exactly what good homeopathic treatment does. A homeopath will take into consideration all your current problems. But we will also consider your past ailments and how they were treated. This leads us to make a reliable prescription that will restore balance and order to your perhaps, rather battered, immune system.

Once the health of your immune system has been restored, you heal yourself. We all have the potential to fend off disease or to heal ourselves when sick. The health of our immune system is the determining factor behind this. This is what the homeopathic treatment targets – not your hormones, but your immune system.

This means that not only will your menopausal symptoms fade away, your overall health will improve. This is real health care, where the problem is understood and the solution supports what your body is trying to achieve. No suppression in sight!

So rather than search for natural hormone replacement options, good as they maybe, think big and go for homeopathic treatment, to restore order and balance.
