Anxiety and panic attacks are common in today’s world, where natural emotions are suppressed more than felt and expressed. If emotions are allowed to be expressed at the time they develop, rarely do they become aggressive, destructive or an inherent problem. It’s when they are repeatedly suppressed that problems arise.
Sadly, this is not how society works in the present age. Children, the age when problems usually begin, are generally not allowed to be themselves. Family and social pressure tend to try to mold them into what is considered normal. But nobody is normal. Everybody is an individual and should be permitted to be themselves.
So how do you turn the clock back? How do you undo the damage done in your childhood? How do you deal with anxiety and panic attacks that currently dominate your life or limit your choices?
Before we go there, let’s just take a look at some of the common symptoms of this condition.
They include:
- palpitation
- increased heart rate
- panting or short of breath
- sweating
- trembling
- restlessness
- gastric involvement – pain, diarrhoea
These are all symptoms, which when present if faced with a dangerous situation can be explained. Many will help you get out of trouble. But the problem comes when your body is in a constant state of anticipated danger, which never occurs.
Then the results of these ongoing conditions are likely to be tense muscles (leading to pain), inability to concentrate, insomnia, irritability, fatigue, etc.
Medically, there is little that can be done, other than give you anti-depressant drugs. Since these do nothing to treat the cause of the problem, when you come off them, the condition is still there, but now often magnified.
Homeopathy is a natural and complete system of medicine which needs to look at the complete picture of you to be able to help. But then it can be immediate, fast, highly effective and permanent.
Sue came to me as she was experiencing high levels of anxiety and panic in some seemingly innocuous situations. Such as when driving her children to school or waking her in the night for no conceivable reason. They just appeared out of the blue and severely limited her life and where she could go without support.
It was difficult for her to talk about a lot of her childhood as there had been incidents that she didn’t want to take about. But gradually, over time, she spoke more and more, as she felt the environment for sharing was supportive and safe.
What happened to her before the anxiety and panic attacks started, coupled with her present symptoms (that most consider unrelated), I was able to reach a beautifully acting homeopathic remedy for her.
Now, two years later, I rarely hear from her, unless it is about one of her children. She leads a normal, active life, packed with work and family life, which she handles effortlessly.
The trigger, when the attacks started, was on the death of a much loved, very close grand parent. It wasn’t the death so much that affected her as the fact that she hadn’t been allowed to cry, hadn’t been allowed to say good-bye, hadn’t been allowed to express her grief as only she needed to.
Later deaths of loved ones simply added to problem and increased the attacks, both in frequency and intensity.
I am certain that many of the worlds problems would disappear if children (and adults) were allowed to express themselves, without judgement and with loving support, at the time they needed to. Of course, aggressive behaviour that threatens to harm them or others needs to be held in check. But this aggression normally only occurs after a build up of suppressed emotions.
Anxiety and panic attacks can be easily resolved with good homeopathic treatment. Let me help you recover from them.
